The last 4 digits of code on the pouch signify the Julian date and year the product was produced, i.e., KFA24B1238 (123rd day of 1998). The third number on the cans signifies the year the product was produced, i.e., 618A2238 (223rd day of 1998).

Pouches and cans keep for several years after the date of production.

Once opened how long is it good for, and how should it be stored?
Store leftovers in an airtight container in refrigerator for 3 to 5 days, or wrap well and freeze for up to 3 months.

No, temperature (hot or cold) will not affect the fish in any way, fillet is best served at room temperature.

The best way to do this is to request a catalog and bring
the catalog to your local market and ask if they would carry this item for you

Serving suggestions:
For the pouches, simply cut open one end of the gold foil
pouch, drain the natural juices into a sink, and then slide the fillet on to a
platter. Nothing could be simpler!
Serve with crackers and cream cheese.
Toss with pasta or in your favorite salads.
